Amelie Esquivel (b. 2002) is a traditional and digital artist based in central TX.  She has been honing her art skills since her youth and is currently a BFA student at Texas State University majoring in studio art with a concentration in painting. Amelie specializes in oil painting, watercolor painting, drawing, and digital art. 

 

She enjoys incorporating her colorful personality and identity into her work. Her art draws inspiration from both western and foreign influences, as well as from her own cultural identity.

Amelie believes it is important to not forget the traditional aspects of art and how it affects today's modern and contemporary art scene. She is a proponent of merging radical, unique, surreal, and modern ideas with traditional concepts. Her background in traditional art, including studying classical artists and their masterful skills, has been influential in forming her technique. Her love of animation and illustration influences her ideas and her process of making concepts for artwork.
